We Love Holiday Wreaths at Weddings

Every year at Bespoke Decor we do this, Halloween passes and the holidays flood all of our inspiration feeds and we just. can’t. get. enough. Anyone with us? We’re loving it! One of the things we’ve spied and are loving the most? Holiday wreaths at weddings. Simple greenery, simple shape, big statement. If you’re headed towards a winter wedding, would you consider adding wreaths to your decor? Here’s a few ways you could consider (we think might sway you to a ‘yes!’).

I LOVE holiday wreaths at weddings! They're so classic and the perfect way to bring a holiday vibe without red

Left to right / Top to bottom

ONE: How cute is this pooch! We’ve been spying wreaths on pets in weddings for a while, but are loving the wintery take on the trend.

TWO: This one might be one of my favourite uses (which is why it’s in here twice!), wreaths on the back of the bride and groom’s chair. We especially love the lettered signs topping these ones off!

THREE: We had to include this one because of that sweet banner! You could have anything lettered on that baby and it would look incredible. Merry Christmas? Thank you? Just Married? Forever begins here? Whatever you choose, it’s a win guaranteed.

FOUR: As promised, wreaths on chairs 2.0. But really, isn’t this the perfect use for them?!

FIVE: Did we mention that they make a gorgeous photo prop? Hold one of these babies and you’ve completed your holiday card photo!

SIX: This wedding is stunning top to bottom. We love that they decorated the heritage church with classic holiday wreaths– so simple but striking between those gorgeous windows!

SEVEN: We know you’ve loved floral crowns, but how about a pine crown? Embrace the season! This one is a DIY and it’s SO lovely.

EIGHT: This whole wedding (actually the same as numero 2) just oozes cozy winter goodness. We love that she opted for a fur shrug and sleeves- way to embrace the season!

NINE: Okay, okay. So this shot is actually from a spring wedding… but it was drop dead gorgeous so we couldn’t omit it. Is this wild wreath collection above the settee stunning!? I want one in my home now. It’s all kinds of wonderful.

Tell us, what’s your fave? I’m still drooling over number nine. It is happening around here, I swear.

Inspiration for an Autumn Neutrals Wedding

When you think of autumn weddings, do you think of bold orange and red hues? I do too, but lately I’ve been spying a new trend- autumn neutrals. And can I just tell you that I’m loving it!? It’s sophisticated, a bit boho, and crazy elegant. Ready to see what I’m talking about?

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Just looking at this photo makes me want to be there. Isn’t it stunning? Fall weddings and moody weather go hand in hand and they make for dynamite photo opps.
TWO: This bouquet started my mission and sucked me into Pinterest. I can’t get enough of the foraged fall fillers in this bouquet and how wild it looks!
THREE: This is perhaps my favourite of them all… but I might be slightly biased. These mini pies were the perfect dessert for our fall fete last year.
FOUR: We’re on board the naked cake train and this one oozes fall glam. If you love boho nordic style, you should really check out that whole shoot, it’s stunning.
FIVE: These place cards aren’t from a fall wedding, but they look like they should be! Gilded florals and pinecones paired with calligraphy? Heck yes.
SIX: This table couldn’t be more perfectly elegant. We are in love with the florals they’ve paired and you should probably click over just to check out the gorgeous setting. Anyone have a manor house like this we can use for a wedding? Please?
SEVEN: One of the things we spotted over and over again in our searches around this theme is floral crowns full of deeper hued greenery and wild blooms. Isn’t this stunning?

I really can’t get enough of this palette. It’s like a cozy blanket but ridiculously beautiful. Which inspiration image is your favourite? I’m just so taken with that last image, the wind in her hair and that floral crown. I’d love to hear yours!

Trend Alert: Family Style Receptions

This is another trend that we’re completely smitten with. Family style reception dinners! We’re so over walking accross the dance floor to get a second helping, and we know that plated service can be costly PLUS, there’s something about breaking bread and sharing plates that makes for the best dinner conversation.

We LOVE family style reception dinners! No more buffets for me please!

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: This is one of our favourite shoots we’ve been a part of. The rich colours, casual elegance, and charm just made it the full package. We love using vintage silver for serving share plates.

TWO: Sharing food makes for such wonderful memories. Plus, it cuts down on food waste compared to other styles of service. If you don’t like potatoes, you just wont take them! And if someone beside you does, they aren’t staring at your plate wishing it wasn’t weird to ask to eat yours. And it’s not awkward to take an extra helping.

THREE: Long tables lend so well to family style service. Just pass the dishes down the line! Where tables this long my have been a challenge with guests getting up and down to head to the buffet, family service allows for a more intimate set up like this.

FOUR: Meals or share plates– it’s up to you! We love the idea of having appetizers on wood slabs to keep guests filled up as they visit the night away.

FIVE: Food can be beautiful too! Family service challenges us to be selective about what we have on the table. This can cut decor costs without cutting the style.

What do you think of this trend? I don’t just love it as a wedding professional, but a wedding goer- it’s one of my favourite ways to feast!

Trend Alert: Rustic Glitz

This trend has been around for a while now, but it’s not going anywhere! Rather, it’s evolving- and we’re loving where it’s headed! You can wave goodbye to the burlap, pearls, and lace combo with mason jars and say hello to a more refined, look- full of greenery, wood, and metallic or crystal glitz. Ready to see what we’re dreaming of?

I LOVE this more refined rustic glitz look- so much better than the burlap and lace!

LEFT TO RIGHT, TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: When you’re done staring at that setting (dreamy!), you’ll see that dark wooden arch with clean lines, luxurious draping and heaps of greenery. It’s one of our favourites we’ve done lately!

TWO: Let me be the first to say, I’m not typically a crystal crazy girl BUT paired with weathered wood and a stunning outdoor location? Well, you’ve got me on board. Neutral linens add another layer of texture to the setting.

THREE: This sweetheart table oozes all of the things this trend brings. Brass candlesticks, heaps of greenery and florals, luxe linens (instead of burlap), a rustic setting, and all set on weathered wood tones.

FOUR: If you’re still a fan of mix matched chairs- you’ll love this update of wood and weathered white (in place of the pastel hues from last summer). The paired down colour pallet allows you to heap texture upon texture without looking messy.

FIVE: Hello, glam! We love this vintage cake stand featuring a modern textured cake, surrounded by rustic antlers. See that backdrop? More weathered wood, friends!

SIX: Last but not least, we wanted to include another indoor setting for you. A long wooden table paired with weathered wood chairs (sans linens!), heaps of greenery and brass candlesticks. These are a few of our favourite things!

What do you think of how this trend is evolving? I’m SUCH a fan of where it’s going. And my favourite image? They’re really all so darn good (just our style!) but I’m still in love with that arch we created.

We love vintage campers at weddings!

This post was just so much fun to put together. If you’ve been following Bespoke Decor for a while, you might remember our super fun Kids at Weddings shoot from a couple years back! One of the most special bits from this shoot (although there were a lot!) was a vintage camper for the kiddos to duck into for some quiet time. Since then… we’re hooked. We couldn’t help but rounding up some of the best ideas on how to use vintage campers at your wedding- just in time for summer.

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM

ONE: This wedding is so bohemian it’s amazing. They used an airstream right front and centre as a backdrop to their vows.

TWO: A vintage camper indoors? Why not? This event makes it look like the best idea.

THREE: What an incredible location- am I right?! This wedding uses an airstream for a travelling bar… perfect!

FOUR: If you’re headed on a roadtrip for your honeymoon… why not make your vintage camper your getaway vehicle?

FIVE: So we’ve covered a mobile bar… but what about a mobile prep kitchen? It’s perfectly functional while making a fun backdrop.

SIX: How fun is this… a photo booth!? I love it!

SEVEN: Last but definitely not least… one of our fave shoots of all time. A children’s retreat.

What’s your favourite? Obviously we’re partial to our own… but also I’d love to see a bride and groom drive off with a vintage camper!

An Easter Inspired Wedding

It’s Good Friday, and with all the beautiful Easter decor I’m seeing around, I was inspired to put together an Easter wedding board for you all. I’m so in love with this purple and peach colour combination- it’s so bright and springy without looking childish. And if you have a lamb and a bunny attend your wedding… would you please invite me? Thank you in advance 😉

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM

ONE: I’m not going to lie. This bouquet inspired the whole board. Originally I was just going for an ‘Easter’ theme… but this? It’s perfection and changed my mind.

TWO: Is there anything more springtastic than a lamb? I don’t think this one needs any commentary- it’s adorable.

THREE: Isn’t this beyond brilliant!? Flowers for the little bunny tail!?

FOUR: Any mini egg addicts out there? What would you do to get your hands on this cake!?

FIVE: With florals this gorgeous, you don’t need to add anything else to your table for it to look perfect.

SIX: This pretty little purple number is probably the most affordable bridesmaid dress we could have put in here- but it’s also the most beautiful, so you can thank us for that 😉

SEVEN: You know we love some good calligraphy and when you put it on eggs? In vintage egg cups? Well, you’ve got us hooked.

EIGHT: These DIY globes hanging from a barn remind me of Easter eggs without looking like an egg hung.

NINE: I’m loving the little ceramic bunnies hopping around the directional signage– how whimsical!

TEN: You would probably need some handsome little ring bearers at an Easter wedding. Suspenders are highly recommended.

ELEVEN: Sweet little macarons can be made to match any colour pallet, but they’re especially darling in these springy tones.

TWELVE: Last but not least- no Easter wedding is complete without a real live bunny. And no, I don’t think this is insane!

Tell me- what’s your favourite image from this Easter inspired wedding board? I’m swooning over that bouquet but since calligraphy has been on my mind so much lately (we’re loving weeding through your resumes and all the gorgeous portfolios!), I’m also taken by the eggs. Sound off with your picks in the comments!

Feature Friday: Vintage Benches at Weddings

Every once in a while I realize that there’s a staple piece in our inventory I have NEVER talked about. And I have to fix it. That’s what’s happening for today’s Feature Friday… these vintage benches!! We love how they lend a casual appeal to a stunning wedding, how they look in photos (they let you snuggle up!), and how they look filled with florals or gifts. I mean, just look at all this inspiration!

Now, I was going to let the photos speak for themselves- but I just can’t keep my mouth shut! I have to tell you that that last photo (gorgeous!!) is of a sunrise wedding. SUNRISE. Amazing. I’ll let it rest now… what’s your fave? That beach wedding is a close second to the sunrise one for me!

Feature Friday: Wood Logs

Wood Logs? Yep, we’re dedicating a whole Friday to them. But why, you say? They’re rustic, full of charm, and ground any decor (I’m looking at you bling and crystals). They add height, unexpected vignettes, and did we mention they’re right on trend? Let’s take a look.

I never thought I would love wood logs as wedding decor so much... lots of great ideas here

Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

ONE: Well, my goodness. It didn’t take long to get inspired did it? This vignette is so simple, but what an impact it makes! There is nothing extravagant here, but it sure feels luxe.

TWO: We’ve talked about wood rounds here on the blog before, but it goes to mention that they totally work with logs… pair them as a centrepiece and carry the theme along with logs as decor at your wedding. We really love that this centrepieces uses the smaller chunks of birch mixed in there as well.

THREE: Oh, birch. There’s something so dreamy about it. I really love cakes displayed on wood slices, or tall logs- But this hunk of birch might take the cake 😉

FOUR: I need to find an invite to this event. Anyone? Set in the middle of an orchard, wood logs make simply elegant seating for a brunch celebration. But really, logs for seating are just as fitting in an industrial chic setting or local restaurant.

FIVE: Groupings of wood logs and candles in jars make a simple but oh-so-elegant vignette as guests seat waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle.

SIX: Large logs or stumps are the perfect little tables for picnic cocktail hours or receptions like this bacon and eggs brunch wedding. I love the stumps that have been stripped of their bark for a less rustic look.

SEVEN: Remember how I said logs can warm up bling? I wasn’t lying! This whole set up is wonderfully extravagant and it works so well with the woodsy elements, gold touches, and all that bling!

EIGHT: Last but not least, go big or go home! This wedding fills mason jars with baby’s breath atop small wood logs next to every seat lining the aisle. Every. Single. Seat.

Spill, are you on board with this trend or do you think logs should stay in the firewood pile? And what’s your favourite from the inspiration? Can you guess that I went and made mine the largest again? Shame on me 😉

Evergreen Winter Wedding Inspiration

Did you catch the early nod to winter a couple weeks back? We’re crazy like that, and today I’m taking it one step further. I’m so taken with winter greens that I’m pulling together an entire winter inspiration board around them. And just so you know- it’s magical. Join me in this winter wonderland, won’t you?

Evergreen Winter Wedding Inspiration

Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

ONE: Boughs and garlands- we’ll take them all, please and thank you. What a magical canopy for a winter wedding. These garlands would look fabulous as a backdrop, in an entry way, anywhere…. really.

TWO: A well dressed groom… *sigh* We’re in love with this vested look and simple winter forest inspired buttoner.

THREE: Whether or not we’re talking greenery… I’d be crazy not to include some seasonal florals! These blooms are in season in December and pair so well with evergreen touches.

FOUR: Would you believe me if I told you this icy looking beauty of a cake is from a summer event? No lie… but it really belongs at a winter wedding if you ask me.

FIVE: This bouquet… it’s dreamy! Could you even disagree with that? The frosted tones paired with the bold winter greens. It’s all kinds of winter wonderful.

SIX: Mini cupcakes with simple sprigs of pine- it couldn’t be more simple, but it sure packs a punch!

SEVEN: Give guests a tip off to the wintery scene they’ll be walking into with simple invitations adorned with evergreen illustrations.

EIGHT: We always go back to sprigs of greenery at each place setting- but it just works! No matter the theme, no matter the season. These winter greens are no exception.

NINE: This lush garland is all sorts of wonderful. The whole wedding is, really. We love that they mixed traditional greens in with some wintery options like pine for this table runner garland.

TEN: It’s a little bit boho, it’s a little bit elegant. Hanging sprigs of cedar with gold garlands makes for such a whimsical backdrop at this wedding.

ELEVEN: Isn’t this just magical? There’s something about snow covered pine trees that takes me to a winter wonderland of fairytale weddings.

It’s a big list today, right?! I just couldn’t stop. What’s your favourite? I’m all about that garland in number 9. And those sweet florals in number 3. Just give me flowers year round and I’ll be happy.

Feature Friday: Sleds at Weddings

Didn’t summer just end? I know! I could tell you would say that, but it doesn’t matter. It’s never too early to start dreaming up cozy winter weddings when you do what I do! Before we know it, it will be Christmas after all 😉 If you’re one of the few to brave a winter wedding, we love your style. Nothing says cozy romantic like candlelight and snowflakes. But what about a vintage sled? Here’s some of our favourite ways we’ve spotted them used in weddings!

Inspiration for vintage Sleds at weddings- perfect for winter decor!

ONE: This one is our baby, we love her and we take her to every winter party, wedding, or event that we can. Here she’s stunning leaned up against a table. She doesn’t need the spotlight, she’ll fit in anywhere.

TWO: Some of the cutest winter wedding photos were taken on a vintage sleigh. They’re just fun. If you’re not up for riding a vintage sled in your wedding dress, give your flowers a ride- it makes for the perfect bouquet shot.

THREE: A vintage sleigh is the perfect size (and pretty!) for a seating chart. Have more guests? Mix a few sleds, sleighs, or toboggans with seating cards for a beautiful display.

FOUR: Spoiler alert… this is my favourite from the inspiration. I just love how the sled adds height to the cake table and that no linens are required on these vintage beauties. And the cakes? Who needs fondant, they’re beautiful without. Perfection, friends.

FIVE: That moss… that snow! It’s a deadly combination. while I don’t suggest you put all your desserts on the ground, how sweet would this be on a table indoors to bring the cozy inside? Or on a snowy ledge as guests walk in to your location?

SIX: Signage! Can you ever have enough signage? We love this simple chalkboard and greens entryway signage but we’ve seen everything from monograms to directions on these babies.

So I saved no mystery here, you know my favourite! Now it’s time to spill the beans- what’s yours? Is it ever too early to start dreaming winter weddings? You be the judge!
