Welcome to month two of our ‘New and Wonderful’ series where we share some of our fresh inventory that is all ready to join you at your event. We have new inventory joining us all. the. time. So we’re really just featuring something we especially love each month. And for the second month in the row… it’s a stunning arm chair! There’s something about classic upholstery and luxe fabrics that get us every time.

Meet Reynolds. Isn’t he charming? We especially love him headed into the holiday season. Did you spot our wreaths post last week? He’d look stunning paired with one IMHO. I think we may need to do a round up of our favourite ways to use upholstered arm chairs because there are SO many fabulous ways to make use of them in events… here’s a few of our faves: a signing table chair, a welcome vignette, a photo prop, in your getting ready room and photos, at the head table, in a comfy lounge area, in a man lounge (that’s a thing, really)… and honestly ANYWHERE you need a chair or some decor to spice up a corner. They’re so darn versatile and beautiful.

Well, hello Elizabeth

We are so excited to introduce you to a new feature we’ll be doing here on Bespoke Decor’s blog! Introducing you to our newest, greatest finds. We are constantly adding stock (like, daily) so there’s no way we can keep up with it all but when we find something we just can’t get enough of- it’s great to be able to share the excitement! We’ll show you our new images of the pieces (freshly cleaned up and ready to rent!) as well as suggest some ways you can use that piece in your event. Ready for the first?

Dear Elizabeth. The Elizabeth wing back chairs (there’s 2!) were such a score of a find when we were down in Portland. Look at those legs! They’re so beautifully detailed, which we love with a simple linen upholstery. For our stock images we paired these with our new marble table (soon to be added to online inventory!) but they’d look just as lovely sandwiching a vintage crate on end, as a signing chair, in a lounge setting, or mixed with seating at an outdoor reception. We simply can’t wait to see these wing back chairs in action! We’ll be sure to share photos of them in use when they go out (and go out, they will! Elizabeth is such a socialite).

Feature Friday: Vintage Benches at Weddings

Every once in a while I realize that there’s a staple piece in our inventory I have NEVER talked about. And I have to fix it. That’s what’s happening for today’s Feature Friday… these vintage benches!! We love how they lend a casual appeal to a stunning wedding, how they look in photos (they let you snuggle up!), and how they look filled with florals or gifts. I mean, just look at all this inspiration!

Now, I was going to let the photos speak for themselves- but I just can’t keep my mouth shut! I have to tell you that that last photo (gorgeous!!) is of a sunrise wedding. SUNRISE. Amazing. I’ll let it rest now… what’s your fave? That beach wedding is a close second to the sunrise one for me!

Feature Friday: Vintage Snowshoes at Weddings

It’s officially winter… well it has been for a while and we’re loving it. We have a whole collection of winter decor available for rent and one of my favourite things we have is vintage snowshoes. They’re so unique and rustic, but in a classy way. Here’s some of our favourite ways we’ve seen them used in weddings.

Left to Right / Top to Bottom:

ONE: This ceremony backdrop from Alberta is just beautiful! We love how it embraces everything wonderful about a vintage winter.

TWO: What a fun cupcake display! Yes, I’ll take two of those.

THREE: Hung on a rustic wall above the cake is the perfect way to display vintage snowshoes.

FOUR: Can we talk about how fun they are as a photo prop?

FIVE: This outdoor winter wedding display features just a few of our favourite things. Plus… I spy some cupcakes hiding on there!

SIX: This gown is stunning on it’s own, but we love how it looks photographed with these vintage snowshoes! I think you could put snowshoes next to anything and they’d belong.

I’m not going to beat around the bush. That ceremony backdrop has stolen my heart. A close second is those cupcakes. But it could be because I’m craving cupcakes. What’s your favourite? How do you feel about snowshoes as wedding decor?

Feature Friday: Vintage Skeleton Keys

Skeleton keys, especially the vintage ones, are so tiny adorable. I always wonder what they were created to open- they all look like they belong in an ancient castle. Just me? Either way, now that they’re not functional for the most part any more, we’re lucky enough to collect them for using as wedding decor. Here’s some of our favourite ways they get used to spruce up the big day.

Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

ONE: If you weren’t in love with these vintage keys before… are you now? Seeing them en masse is one of my favourites! They make such lovely takeaways for guests and double as seating cards.

TWO: Not one, not two, but three keys layered and tied around a simple mason jar floral arrangement, stacked on top of some aqua vintage books. Is there anything about that sentence you don’t like?

THREE: Vintage books tied with cloth ribbon get a special touch with vintage skeleton keys to finish them off. This makes such a simple yet unique table centre for a wedding or bridal shower.

FOUR: A well dressed groom! We love how simply this skeleton key brings style and personality to a basic buttoner.

FIVE: Reason number 1000 to love them… they make for amazing ring photos. I had a hard time choosing which key and ring photo to put here but this rustic background was too good to pass up.

SIX: I had to throw a second seating arrangement in here. Displayed on a standing vintage door, skeleton keys make a stunning display at an outdoor wedding!

SEVEN: The casual way these little gold keys hang off of this floral arrangement is pretty much perfection. Just when we thought we were over burlap… this.

Now, can you even pick a favourite? I did… and it’s number one. But it’s a tight race with number seven coming in next. Have you spotted these little gems used in other unique ways? We’d love to hear about it!

Feature Friday: Vintage Bicycles

What type of motor lacking transport is so charming and chic that it can play centre stage at a wedding? Nope, not the roller blades or skateboard. We’re talking vintage bicycles. And is there any reason we shouldn’t be? They’re SO much fun and crazy adorable. Let’s look at some inspiration to get you dreaming of cycling away to your dream wedding.

Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

ONE: If you love florals and vintage and charm… check out this whole wedding, really. I wanted to save every photo from it to use in round ups for the future here on Bespoke because there are so many perfect ideas! This bike filled with florals made it’s way from ceremony to reception (talk about easy to move around!), making it twice as loved.

TWO: Vintage bikes as signage? You know it! We especially love these arrows, but that could be because they’re one of the most used pieces in our inventory 😉

THREE: Vintage bicycles make for amazing wedding photos. Period.

FOUR: Can I convince you to go check out this whole wedding? I know this little vignette looks simple- bike basket for cards, little takeaways for guests in the crate… but it’s one of the most charming weddings I’ve ever seen. Hands down.

FIVE: This bike is fitted with a bright vintage crate and bold florals to match. Really, could it get any more fun?

SIX: Are you dreaming of cycling away from your dream wedding yet? The tin cans and signs are so adorable on this couple’s… if you do, you should definitely steal this idea!

SEVEN: The balloon on this bike just makes it so cheeky! The classic basket full of florals and handmade pennant welcome sign is in classic country territory… until you add that peachy balloon and, well… we like it a lot.

Can you even pick a favourite? I would have to say that the entire wedding from number four gets my love and affection but if we’re just talking the images here? Numero Uno. How could I not with those blooms spilling all over the place! #dreamy

Feature Friday: Wood Logs

Wood Logs? Yep, we’re dedicating a whole Friday to them. But why, you say? They’re rustic, full of charm, and ground any decor (I’m looking at you bling and crystals). They add height, unexpected vignettes, and did we mention they’re right on trend? Let’s take a look.

Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

ONE: Well, my goodness. It didn’t take long to get inspired did it? This vignette is so simple, but what an impact it makes! There is nothing extravagant here, but it sure feels luxe.

TWO: We’ve talked about wood rounds here on the blog before, but it goes to mention that they totally work with logs… pair them as a centrepiece and carry the theme along with logs as decor at your wedding. We really love that this centrepieces uses the smaller chunks of birch mixed in there as well.

THREE: Oh, birch. There’s something so dreamy about it. I really love cakes displayed on wood slices, or tall logs- But this hunk of birch might take the cake 😉

FOUR: I need to find an invite to this event. Anyone? Set in the middle of an orchard, wood logs make simply elegant seating for a brunch celebration. But really, logs for seating are just as fitting in an industrial chic setting or local restaurant.

FIVE: Groupings of wood logs and candles in jars make a simple but oh-so-elegant vignette as guests seat waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle.

SIX: Large logs or stumps are the perfect little tables for picnic cocktail hours or receptions like this bacon and eggs brunch wedding. I love the stumps that have been stripped of their bark for a less rustic look.

SEVEN: Remember how I said logs can warm up bling? I wasn’t lying! This whole set up is wonderfully extravagant and it works so well with the woodsy elements, gold touches, and all that bling!

EIGHT: Last but not least, go big or go home! This wedding fills mason jars with baby’s breath atop small wood logs next to every seat lining the aisle. Every. Single. Seat.

Feature Friday: Vintage Scales

Some pieces have so much charm wrapped up in themselves that they really don’t need to be paired with anything fancy. That’s how I feel about vintage weigh scales. I mean, I’ve managed to start collecting them without realizing and if I see more- you can bet they’ll be coming back with me to the warehouse. They add height to any table display, interest to any centrepiece, and give a unique platform to display favours, snacks, and florals. ‘Nuff said? How about some eye candy!

Left to right / Top to Bottom:

ONE: This whole fall wedding shoot is so much fun, I love the rich colours. A weigh scale is the perfect way to show off some of your favours (especially when they come from the kitchen like this sweet apple butter!) and decorate the favour table without adding clutter.

TWO: Oh, vintage books. They’ve done it again in this shabby vintage centrepiece. Do I really need to say any more about this? Books and a scale. Period.

THREE: It really could not get any simpler than this. I’m a sucker for a mint green scale and this little number with tiny monogram letters? It’s personal and basic in all the right ways.

FOUR: Again with the simple… but it makes such a statement! This table features four vintage weigh scales– one with fresh fruit. Sure, you could keep adding things… but why when it’s this cute?

FIVE: These deep fall florals and quail feathers are a dynamite combination. I really need those succulents in my life… but I’ll digress and let you know that florals were made for weigh scales. If you’re looking for a classic vase alternative? Yep, these fit the bill.

SIX: Isn’t this the classic vintage centrepiece I get asked for all the time? Oh yes, yes it is! A weigh scale adds a fun twist to the popular bottles and jars filled with blooms.

Alright… let’s talk favourites? I’m probably not going to surprise you… I mean, I did make it the largest of all the photos- but there’s something simply perfect about the apple butter on that scale. It really fits the theme (I love food favours!) and doesn’t add anything it doesn’t need to, trying to be extra pretty. What’s your fave? Let us know in the comments!

Feature Friday: Vintage Globes at Weddings

There’s something so special about a vintage globe. It’s full of character, stories, and dreams- and it’s cute to boot. We love that they’ve made a comeback in decor and are popping up at gorgeous weddings around the world (pun!), and not just at the travel themed ones. Here’s a collection of inspiration to get you dreaming about these vintage beauties for your next event.

LEFT TO RIGHT/ TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Let’s start off with the most custom a globe can get. Why not have a globe hand lettered to commemorate your big day? It will make a beautiful keepsake in your home for years to come.

TWO: We’ve talked about this awesome guest book alternative before- post cards in a vintage suitcase. The globe is such a welcome addition to the display!

THREE: I’m a bit jealous that I didn’t attend this wedding and get one of these fabulous leather luggage tag favours! I mean, with favours like that- they pretty much HAD to track down a vintage globe or two for decor.

FOUR: This centrepiece is so simple… but isn’t it perfect! A couple vintage books make the globe the star.

FIVE: We love that this wedding took a globe and stuck it outside, on top of a few vintage suitcases, to greet guests before they entered the wedding. Why only decorate your tables?

SIX: This display has height! We love the globe stacked upon vintage books, surrounded by heaps of flowers and other vintage goodies. Go big or go home- right?

SEVEN: Aren’t we always looking for unique guest book ideas? This one is so much fun and would make a great display piece in your home afterwards.

EIGHT: Have we mentioned we love our in house calligrapher? She’s fantastic on any surface- why should a globe be any different? We’re totally inspired by this love quote.

We could keep on showing you more images with beautifully displayed globes, but Ill let you hit Pinterest 😉 I’d love to hear your favourite out of this collection! Mine is the one with the luggage tags. But I’m pretty smitten with those tags so maybe it’s not a fair race this time around.

Feature Friday: Crystal Candlesticks

Crystal candlesticks are such a classic piece of decor- yet they’re ignored way too often. We love the variety of shapes and heights they come in, but can look cohesive in a grouping with their crystal appeal. We just had to devote a Feature Friday all to these special guys.

Photos Left to Right / Top to Bottom:

ONE: Who would have known crystal could look so good in a rustic setting? This tablescape is so simple, but the crystal candlesticks down the long table bring height and interest to an otherwise plain display.

TWO: This table is just stunning. We love the mix of rich florals with the clear crystal. Heaps of candlesticks are striking but don’t take away from the star of the show.

THREE: Or you could let the candlesticks themselves be the star of the show. We love how simple this table setting is while being crazy elegant at the same time. Mixing clear glass and white elements is so refreshing!

FOUR: Mix and match! We love how this jewel toned wedding mixes brass, wood, silver and crystal candlestlicks for an eclectic table runner.
