Dark & Moody Bouquets

Alright, you guys! I just can’t get over the dark moody florals I’m seeing this season. Our last round up was all about white pumpkins and was so nice and bright, but I have been itching to get back to the dark side. I’ve rounded up some beautiful bouquets that are either completely dark and moody or have some serious pumps of dark that bring such character to lighter bouquets. Ready to swoon with me?

LOVE these dark and moody bouquets- perfect for an autumn wedding

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Is anyone here a SYTYCD or Dancing with the Stars fan? This is Whitney’s wedding bouquet… and it’s a STUNNER. That trailing foliage. *sigh*

TWO: Purples are one of those colours that play SO well with the dark and moody theme. This one’s wild and wandering shape is near perfection.

THREE: This bouquet is actually a light and neutral bouquet without the darker foliage. The deep hued leaves are such a simple way to play into the darks!

FOUR: I’m such a sucker for black centred anemones and this bouquet plays off the dark centres with some larger dark blooms. Also… those dark lips!

FIVE: This is the darkest I’ve found that doesn’t look a single bit tacky. It’s lovely in fact! So now you know you can go *almost* black in every sense of the word and still be lovely.

SIX: Did you know that succulents could be dark and moody? Oh, they totally can! And this beautifully organic bouquet is amazing. Period.

Do you have a favourite? I’m still swooning over Whitney’s. But those anemones are a close second.

We Love White Pumpkins at Weddings

Another fall post? It’s that time, friends! Today we’re talking pumpkins at weddings. How very autumnal, right? But not just any pumpkins- white pumpkins. Because they’re the cutest and we really do LOVE them at weddings.

CWe love white pumpkins at weddings! Bespoke Decor

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Not only do we love white pumpkins (especially when they’re mini!) but we love them mixed with beautiful golden ones too!

TWO: This wedding ceremony site is totally stunning. We love that they embraced the season and scattered pumpkins down the aisle. How lovely!

(if you know where this image is originally from, please let us know! From what we can tell it was uploaded directly to Pinterest)

THREE: This sprawling centrepiece with florals, pumpkins, antlers and candles is a monochromatic dream! It’s rustic thanks to the antlers, but not in the burlap, we’ve seen you 100 times way. It’s just SO good.

FOUR: Well aren’t they the cutest! We had to add that pumpkins make the sweetest photo props at fall time. Especially with some lovely lettering.

FIVE: Mini boo pumpkins (thats what grocery stores call the white ones, cute huh!) make the perfect seating chart for guests and they can double as favors if you like!

SIX: Last but not least… the pumpkin vase! They can be done so well, you guys! This one is so lovely with the grayed out pumpkin, tulips, and seeded eucalyptus. But seeded eucalyptus is one of my favourite greens, so perhaps that’s why I’m crushing on it so hard?

Tell me… what’s your fave out of these? I’m dying over that centrepiece, so I’ll have to say that one. Like it needs to be on my table come thanksgiving.

Inspiration for an Autumn Neutrals Wedding

When you think of autumn weddings, do you think of bold orange and red hues? I do too, but lately I’ve been spying a new trend- autumn neutrals. And can I just tell you that I’m loving it!? It’s sophisticated, a bit boho, and crazy elegant. Ready to see what I’m talking about?

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Just looking at this photo makes me want to be there. Isn’t it stunning? Fall weddings and moody weather go hand in hand and they make for dynamite photo opps.
TWO: This bouquet started my mission and sucked me into Pinterest. I can’t get enough of the foraged fall fillers in this bouquet and how wild it looks!
THREE: This is perhaps my favourite of them all… but I might be slightly biased. These mini pies were the perfect dessert for our fall fete last year.
FOUR: We’re on board the naked cake train and this one oozes fall glam. If you love boho nordic style, you should really check out that whole shoot, it’s stunning.
FIVE: These place cards aren’t from a fall wedding, but they look like they should be! Gilded florals and pinecones paired with calligraphy? Heck yes.
SIX: This table couldn’t be more perfectly elegant. We are in love with the florals they’ve paired and you should probably click over just to check out the gorgeous setting. Anyone have a manor house like this we can use for a wedding? Please?
SEVEN: One of the things we spotted over and over again in our searches around this theme is floral crowns full of deeper hued greenery and wild blooms. Isn’t this stunning?

I really can’t get enough of this palette. It’s like a cozy blanket but ridiculously beautiful. Which inspiration image is your favourite? I’m just so taken with that last image, the wind in her hair and that floral crown. I’d love to hear yours!

Trend Alert: Bold Hues

When you think of popular wedding pallets, I’m sure pastels pop into your mind. But we’re here to tell you that they’re on their way out! We’re seeing tons of bold hues coming our way and we’re excited for this change. Whether deep, bold hues or vibrant punchy colours- the only thing we won’t be seeing is muted. Here’s a look at some of the bold hues we’ve spotted and loved.

we love these bold hues! such a refreshing change from all the pastel

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: This dark blue is calling my name! I love how moody it is, especially paired with the vintage candlesticks.

TWO: Ombre is still in… but bolder! We love these pinks, purples and reds all mixed together. There’s something for every skin tone.

THREE: Cobalt! Oh, how we love you. This watercolour invitation is bursting with the bold hue but the simple design keeps it from being too loud.

FOUR: From bright florals to bright lips, we love the deeper colours this bride has chosen to create a signature look.

FIVE: Go bright or go home! Did you know orange could look so stylish? We adore how fiery this whole combination is- and the cool blue placemats? Such a welcome break from the bright colours!

SIX: This cake is great on so many levels. We love that this couple didn’t shy away from colour and brought in deep, colourful blooms to top off an already bold cake.

Tell us, are you as ready for this shift as we are? Or are you still loving the pastels? And what about the inspiration! Do you have a favourite? I’m all about the number one. That moody blue setup is giving me all the feels.

Trend Alert: Unruly Florals

It’s funny, we have spent years trying to perfect weddings- tailor them and take away anything that doesn’t look polished. But unpolished, unruly, and wild is making a total comeback! With florals, anyhow. And we’re head over heels with the trend. Ready to see some of the arrangements that our dreams are made of?

Unruly Florals- love this freeform wildflower look!

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: The smaller blooms in this arrangement make allow room for more greenery and sprays. We love that all the texture is kept within a neutral palette and gets a touch of classic sensibility with a grosgrain ribbon.

TWO: This bouquet is freeform at it’s finest. It may not feature stacks of flowers, but each has room to breathe and make a statement. The trailing fabric ribbon is the icing on the cake.

THREE: I think we should almost make a round up of freeform florals on vintage wine barrels… because we’ve been seeing a lot of those too! But there’s a reason- they’re dang gorgeous!

FOUR: We love this wild footed arrangement full of blooms and twigs. This arrangement challenges what we’ve been seeing by omitting most greens!

FIVE: We love the whispy ferns this hand tied bouquet features. We’ve been seeing less and less wrapped arrangements in favor of natural hand tied.

SIX: This bouquet is wild at it’s loveliest! We love all the leaves, greens, sprays, and blooms this bouquet has to offer! It seriously has it all.

SEVEN: We had to include a simple wildflower bouquet in this roundup. This trend doesn’t say bigger is better (although we’ll never say no to more florals!).

Do you have a favourite? I’m really loving that giant bouquet right now.

Trend Alert: Family Style Receptions

This is another trend that we’re completely smitten with. Family style reception dinners! We’re so over walking accross the dance floor to get a second helping, and we know that plated service can be costly PLUS, there’s something about breaking bread and sharing plates that makes for the best dinner conversation.

We LOVE family style reception dinners! No more buffets for me please!

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: This is one of our favourite shoots we’ve been a part of. The rich colours, casual elegance, and charm just made it the full package. We love using vintage silver for serving share plates.

TWO: Sharing food makes for such wonderful memories. Plus, it cuts down on food waste compared to other styles of service. If you don’t like potatoes, you just wont take them! And if someone beside you does, they aren’t staring at your plate wishing it wasn’t weird to ask to eat yours. And it’s not awkward to take an extra helping.

THREE: Long tables lend so well to family style service. Just pass the dishes down the line! Where tables this long my have been a challenge with guests getting up and down to head to the buffet, family service allows for a more intimate set up like this.

FOUR: Meals or share plates– it’s up to you! We love the idea of having appetizers on wood slabs to keep guests filled up as they visit the night away.

FIVE: Food can be beautiful too! Family service challenges us to be selective about what we have on the table. This can cut decor costs without cutting the style.

What do you think of this trend? I don’t just love it as a wedding professional, but a wedding goer- it’s one of my favourite ways to feast!

Trend Alert: Rustic Glitz

This trend has been around for a while now, but it’s not going anywhere! Rather, it’s evolving- and we’re loving where it’s headed! You can wave goodbye to the burlap, pearls, and lace combo with mason jars and say hello to a more refined, look- full of greenery, wood, and metallic or crystal glitz. Ready to see what we’re dreaming of?

I LOVE this more refined rustic glitz look- so much better than the burlap and lace!

LEFT TO RIGHT, TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: When you’re done staring at that setting (dreamy!), you’ll see that dark wooden arch with clean lines, luxurious draping and heaps of greenery. It’s one of our favourites we’ve done lately!

TWO: Let me be the first to say, I’m not typically a crystal crazy girl BUT paired with weathered wood and a stunning outdoor location? Well, you’ve got me on board. Neutral linens add another layer of texture to the setting.

THREE: This sweetheart table oozes all of the things this trend brings. Brass candlesticks, heaps of greenery and florals, luxe linens (instead of burlap), a rustic setting, and all set on weathered wood tones.

FOUR: If you’re still a fan of mix matched chairs- you’ll love this update of wood and weathered white (in place of the pastel hues from last summer). The paired down colour pallet allows you to heap texture upon texture without looking messy.

FIVE: Hello, glam! We love this vintage cake stand featuring a modern textured cake, surrounded by rustic antlers. See that backdrop? More weathered wood, friends!

SIX: Last but not least, we wanted to include another indoor setting for you. A long wooden table paired with weathered wood chairs (sans linens!), heaps of greenery and brass candlesticks. These are a few of our favourite things!

What do you think of how this trend is evolving? I’m SUCH a fan of where it’s going. And my favourite image? They’re really all so darn good (just our style!) but I’m still in love with that arch we created.

Trend Alert: Neon Weddings

A couple weeks back, we shared some of the trends we’ve been seeing in weddings for 2016 and into 2017. One of those was the ultra fun- Neon! Whether you stick with all one fluorescent hue or have a pallet of a full neon rainbow, we can’t get enough. Our favourite way to see this trend play is with neutrals. Whether you ground it with all white, black and white, or nude neutrals- this helps keep the look from looking like you’re going for a blacklight bowling party. Here’s some images that we’re totally inspired by right now:

What a fun idea! Neon and white for wedding colours

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: When I first heard neon as a wedding theme, I immediately questioned what the couple would wear to incorporate that. Some of the styled shoots we see on Pinterest have extravagant brides with wild makeup- but that’s not for everyone. We love that this couple chose neon accessories that didn’t take away from the traditional wedding looks they sported.

TWO: A neon cake! This one is lovely with a mostly white textured fondant covering, with a neon pink playing peekaboo on each layer.

THREE: This has long been a favourite shoot of mine. The nude neutral is such a wonderful base for pops of neon! Plus, it adds an element of class that the vibrant hues can sometimes lack.

FOUR: To say we LOVE this neon faux chandelier is an understatement. It elevates the whole tablescape! We also love how the settings are grounded with black glassware and chairs. Talk about chic.

FIVE: This simple neon backdrop is both perfectly lovely and achievable thanks to the use of washi tape! Notice something about this? Yep! It’s mostly white too 😉

SIX: These invitations tell guests they’re set for fun, each piece sporting a different neon hue.

SEVEN: These save the dates are edged with a pop of neon, and better yet- they’re a free printable we designed for you! They’re the perfect pop of neon without committing to a complete theme.

EIGHT: Confetti! We love confetti all of the time, but we have to say- neon makes it even more fun.

NINE: If you do want to go all-out neon, why not choose a fun desert table to house the vibrant pops? We love these fluorescent meringues!

What do you think of this trend? It’s gutsy, right?! And what about your favourite inspiration? It’s our save the dates, isn’t it 😉

Trend Alert: Backless Bridal Dresses

Alright, so this trend isn’t brand new but it’s seeing a huge upturn this year! We’ve long been admiring backless dresses, but they weren’t making their way into your real life weddings until recently. And let’s be honest, we’re so glad they have! They pack all the va va voom in the back and pure class in the front. We love that they can be structured, traditional, lace, boho, even fit for a tropical wedding. Here’s some looks we’ve spied on Pinterest we’re loving:

We're loving the backless wedding dress! These are some awesome ones

LEFT TO RIGHT, TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Isn’t this photo what dreams are made of? We love that this lace number is completely traditional in the front (long sleeves and all!) while wowing us when she turns.

TWO: This dress is more sleek and traditional (no lace here!), but the dipping backline is really all the detail this satin number needs!

THREE: This lace is SO beautiful! the sheer back helps it to fit like a glove without taking away from the backless look. Plus, who wouldn’t want a photo like this to remember their big day?

FOUR: This dress is couture! Seriously fashionable, friends. If you’re wanting to make a statement with your dress, this is a fabulous way to do it!

FIVE: This boho number is simply gorgeous. We love the long sleeves and sectioned lace skirt.

SIX: This lace gown features barely there straps which will make you look twice. And can we point out that lovely crown?

SEVEN: Talk about an up and down! What we love most about this dress (other than the love she’s getting in it) is that it’s structured and modern! Most backless dresses we see are lace and a bit boho, but that’s not the only option!

Tell us, what is your favourite? I’m still dreaming of the first one, but it could be because I wish I was there right now.

Skip the Colour Palette

I love a good colour palette, I’m sure you may have noticed. But lately I’m kind of taken with the couples that trash the fancy colour palettes and go for a collection of neutrals (black, white, and woodsy) with heaps of greenery and metallic touches.  I don’t even know how else to describe it, so let me just give you some visual inspiration.  Oh, and we’re extra in love with this all on the table. So this is a table-full collection, okay?

I'm loving these table settings full of neutrals with pops of metallic

Seriously, do I even need to say anything? It’s just SO good.

Left to right, top to bottom:

ONE: One of our own, one of our faves to date.

TWO: This is just so beautiful, I feel like I need to tell you that we got to be there in person. #nobigdeal

THREE: We’re such a sucker for brass candlesticks! Heaps of greens mean you don’t need to splurge on flowers.

FOUR: This is actually a dinner party. What a lucky bunch of guests!

FIVE: This one is so dark and moody, and what a fun touch using succulents.

SIX: Last but not least, I had to throw some tropical vibes in here. How lovely!

Which is your favourite? For once I’m actually stuck between all of them.
