DIY Monogrammed Ring Box

Today Bespoke Decor is bringing a simple but elegant DIY your way. This DIY Monogrammed Ring Box is so simple, the aesthetic could fit almost any decor theme. We love the clean round shape with no latches (just a hidden magnet!) of these boxes that are the perfect size to be carried down the aisle in little ones’ hands. If you’re looking to do something a little different than a traditional ring pillow… maybe this is your answer! We chose to do a simple one letter monogram inside two clean circles, but you could totally choose to dress it up with some flourishes and garnishes. The sky is the limit!

If you’ve never tried wood burning, it can seem a bit intimidating. I mean, the thing is hot enough to burn wood, right? But we dare you to try it out! It’s actually so simple. Think of it like writing with a hot pen. A very hot pen, but just a pen. The entire handle is cool, you just need to keep your little fingers away from the hot end (just like a glue gun). And is that really so scary?

We picked up this box from Michaels, theres so many different shapes and sizes to choose from. The first thing you’ll want to do is decide on your design. Sketch it out or print out a stencil to transfer to your box. Put on your round pointed tip for your wood burner and let it warm up while you’re doing this.

We used a candle to trace around to get the circle shape. I don’t know about you but drawing a perfect circle isn’t my strength! We added a second circle inside that one before working on the ‘A’. To do a faux calligraphy letter, draw it as you normally would then add thickness to the ‘down’ strokes. That means any time your pen would be travelling towards the baseline, you should be making that stroke thicker.

You could even add in a date on the bottom as a memento.

There you have it! Easy as pie! We used some white linen to fill the box, but you could choose any material that matches your colours. What do you think of the simple raw wood look? We cant help but picture it at a winter wedding full of fresh holiday greens! But maybe that’s just the season.

Welcome to month two of our ‘New and Wonderful’ series where we share some of our fresh inventory that is all ready to join you at your event. We have new inventory joining us all. the. time. So we’re really just featuring something we especially love each month. And for the second month in the row… it’s a stunning arm chair! There’s something about classic upholstery and luxe fabrics that get us every time.

Meet Reynolds. Isn’t he charming? We especially love him headed into the holiday season. Did you spot our wreaths post last week? He’d look stunning paired with one IMHO. I think we may need to do a round up of our favourite ways to use upholstered arm chairs because there are SO many fabulous ways to make use of them in events… here’s a few of our faves: a signing table chair, a welcome vignette, a photo prop, in your getting ready room and photos, at the head table, in a comfy lounge area, in a man lounge (that’s a thing, really)… and honestly ANYWHERE you need a chair or some decor to spice up a corner. They’re so darn versatile and beautiful.

We Love Holiday Wreaths at Weddings

Every year at Bespoke Decor we do this, Halloween passes and the holidays flood all of our inspiration feeds and we just. can’t. get. enough. Anyone with us? We’re loving it! One of the things we’ve spied and are loving the most? Holiday wreaths at weddings. Simple greenery, simple shape, big statement. If you’re headed towards a winter wedding, would you consider adding wreaths to your decor? Here’s a few ways you could consider (we think might sway you to a ‘yes!’).

Left to right / Top to bottom

ONE: How cute is this pooch! We’ve been spying wreaths on pets in weddings for a while, but are loving the wintery take on the trend.

TWO: This one might be one of my favourite uses (which is why it’s in here twice!), wreaths on the back of the bride and groom’s chair. We especially love the lettered signs topping these ones off!

THREE: We had to include this one because of that sweet banner! You could have anything lettered on that baby and it would look incredible. Merry Christmas? Thank you? Just Married? Forever begins here? Whatever you choose, it’s a win guaranteed.

FOUR: As promised, wreaths on chairs 2.0. But really, isn’t this the perfect use for them?!

FIVE: Did we mention that they make a gorgeous photo prop? Hold one of these babies and you’ve completed your holiday card photo!

SIX: This wedding is stunning top to bottom. We love that they decorated the heritage church with classic holiday wreaths– so simple but striking between those gorgeous windows!

SEVEN: We know you’ve loved floral crowns, but how about a pine crown? Embrace the season! This one is a DIY and it’s SO lovely.

EIGHT: This whole wedding (actually the same as numero 2) just oozes cozy winter goodness. We love that she opted for a fur shrug and sleeves- way to embrace the season!

NINE: Okay, okay. So this shot is actually from a spring wedding… but it was drop dead gorgeous so we couldn’t omit it. Is this wild wreath collection above the settee stunning!? I want one in my home now. It’s all kinds of wonderful.

Light ’em Up! Sparkler send off printables

Some of my favourite photos around Pinterest are of sparkler send offs at weddings. They’re just SO much fun and magical to be a part of. I mean… look at how great this is?!

Today we want to share a simple printable to make a sparkler send off easy and to dress up the actual sparklers you give out to guests (and to let them know what they’re for!). We made it a simple grey so you can match it to almost any wedding decor (and by this time, it’ll be dark anyways).

Just download these printables RIGHT HERE. They print out three to a page, and we recommend cardstock. You can see ours has some print lines SO we also recommend getting them printed at a copy shop for laser quality. Cut them out- we’d also recommend a paper cutter, especially if you’re doing enough for every guest! This little guy only cost about $12 and works like a charm.

Then, tape on your sparklers! We love this gold foil tape and it sticks even better than washi tape. We just picked it up from the craft store.

Ta-da! Instant sparkler send off.

Well, hello Elizabeth

We are so excited to introduce you to a new feature we’ll be doing here on Bespoke Decor’s blog! Introducing you to our newest, greatest finds. We are constantly adding stock (like, daily) so there’s no way we can keep up with it all but when we find something we just can’t get enough of- it’s great to be able to share the excitement! We’ll show you our new images of the pieces (freshly cleaned up and ready to rent!) as well as suggest some ways you can use that piece in your event. Ready for the first?

Dear Elizabeth. The Elizabeth wing back chairs (there’s 2!) were such a score of a find when we were down in Portland. Look at those legs! They’re so beautifully detailed, which we love with a simple linen upholstery. For our stock images we paired these with our new marble table (soon to be added to online inventory!) but they’d look just as lovely sandwiching a vintage crate on end, as a signing chair, in a lounge setting, or mixed with seating at an outdoor reception. We simply can’t wait to see these wing back chairs in action! We’ll be sure to share photos of them in use when they go out (and go out, they will! Elizabeth is such a socialite).

Dark & Moody Bouquets

Alright, you guys! I just can’t get over the dark moody florals I’m seeing this season. Our last round up was all about white pumpkins and was so nice and bright, but I have been itching to get back to the dark side. I’ve rounded up some beautiful bouquets that are either completely dark and moody or have some serious pumps of dark that bring such character to lighter bouquets. Ready to swoon with me?

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Is anyone here a SYTYCD or Dancing with the Stars fan? This is Whitney’s wedding bouquet… and it’s a STUNNER. That trailing foliage. *sigh*

TWO: Purples are one of those colours that play SO well with the dark and moody theme. This one’s wild and wandering shape is near perfection.

THREE: This bouquet is actually a light and neutral bouquet without the darker foliage. The deep hued leaves are such a simple way to play into the darks!

FOUR: I’m such a sucker for black centred anemones and this bouquet plays off the dark centres with some larger dark blooms. Also… those dark lips!

FIVE: This is the darkest I’ve found that doesn’t look a single bit tacky. It’s lovely in fact! So now you know you can go *almost* black in every sense of the word and still be lovely.

SIX: Did you know that succulents could be dark and moody? Oh, they totally can! And this beautifully organic bouquet is amazing. Period.

Do you have a favourite? I’m still swooning over Whitney’s. But those anemones are a close second.

Autumn Leaf Place Cards

I’m sure you’ve noticed, we’re diving into fall and loving every minute of it. Today we’re bringing a super simple 2 minute DIY to dress up your autumnal table. Yep, these gold lettered autumn leaves place cards. And oh, they’re even more shiny and stunning in real life.

There’s only one thing you need to make these. It’s our dear friend, Liquid Gold. Grab it at Michaels along with a round tip paint brush and get painting. We totally love how simply this transforms a matte fall leaf to a shiny textured gem of a place card.

We painted directly on the leaves BUT if you are planning to make these for a wedding and want to prepare ahead of time, the leaves won’t last too long. There is a trick to make them keep longer though! Clear sealer. Our friend Colleen shares all about how she uses it to keep leaves fresh right here.

What do you think? Would you try this out? It’s such a simple way to up your fall tablescape game. They’re perfect for wedding place cards (you know that was our first thought!) but they’d also be lovely for a Thanksgiving table.

We Love White Pumpkins at Weddings

Another fall post? It’s that time, friends! Today we’re talking pumpkins at weddings. How very autumnal, right? But not just any pumpkins- white pumpkins. Because they’re the cutest and we really do LOVE them at weddings.

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Not only do we love white pumpkins (especially when they’re mini!) but we love them mixed with beautiful golden ones too!

TWO: This wedding ceremony site is totally stunning. We love that they embraced the season and scattered pumpkins down the aisle. How lovely!

THREE: This sprawling centrepiece with florals, pumpkins, antlers and candles is a monochromatic dream! It’s rustic thanks to the antlers, but not in the burlap, we’ve seen you 100 times way. It’s just SO good.

FOUR: Well aren’t they the cutest! We had to add that pumpkins make the sweetest photo props at fall time. Especially with some lovely lettering.

FIVE: Mini boo pumpkins (thats what grocery stores call the white ones, cute huh!) make the perfect seating chart for guests and they can double as favors if you like!

SIX: Last but not least… the pumpkin vase! They can be done so well, you guys! This one is so lovely with the grayed out pumpkin, tulips, and seeded eucalyptus. But seeded eucalyptus is one of my favourite greens, so perhaps that’s why I’m crushing on it so hard?

Tell me… what’s your fave out of these? I’m dying over that centrepiece, so I’ll have to say that one. Like it needs to be on my table come thanksgiving.

Inspiration for an Autumn Neutrals Wedding

When you think of autumn weddings, do you think of bold orange and red hues? I do too, but lately I’ve been spying a new trend- autumn neutrals. And can I just tell you that I’m loving it!? It’s sophisticated, a bit boho, and crazy elegant. Ready to see what I’m talking about?

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: Just looking at this photo makes me want to be there. Isn’t it stunning? Fall weddings and moody weather go hand in hand and they make for dynamite photo opps.
TWO: This bouquet started my mission and sucked me into Pinterest. I can’t get enough of the foraged fall fillers in this bouquet and how wild it looks!
THREE: This is perhaps my favourite of them all… but I might be slightly biased. These mini pies were the perfect dessert for our fall fete last year.
FOUR: We’re on board the naked cake train and this one oozes fall glam. If you love boho nordic style, you should really check out that whole shoot, it’s stunning.
FIVE: These place cards aren’t from a fall wedding, but they look like they should be! Gilded florals and pinecones paired with calligraphy? Heck yes.
SIX: This table couldn’t be more perfectly elegant. We are in love with the florals they’ve paired and you should probably click over just to check out the gorgeous setting. Anyone have a manor house like this we can use for a wedding? Please?
SEVEN: One of the things we spotted over and over again in our searches around this theme is floral crowns full of deeper hued greenery and wild blooms. Isn’t this stunning?

I really can’t get enough of this palette. It’s like a cozy blanket but ridiculously beautiful. Which inspiration image is your favourite? I’m just so taken with that last image, the wind in her hair and that floral crown. I’d love to hear yours!

Trend Alert: Bold Hues

When you think of popular wedding pallets, I’m sure pastels pop into your mind. But we’re here to tell you that they’re on their way out! We’re seeing tons of bold hues coming our way and we’re excited for this change. Whether deep, bold hues or vibrant punchy colours- the only thing we won’t be seeing is muted. Here’s a look at some of the bold hues we’ve spotted and loved.

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: This dark blue is calling my name! I love how moody it is, especially paired with the vintage candlesticks.

TWO: Ombre is still in… but bolder! We love these pinks, purples and reds all mixed together. There’s something for every skin tone.

THREE: Cobalt! Oh, how we love you. This watercolour invitation is bursting with the bold hue but the simple design keeps it from being too loud.

FOUR: From bright florals to bright lips, we love the deeper colours this bride has chosen to create a signature look.

FIVE: Go bright or go home! Did you know orange could look so stylish? We adore how fiery this whole combination is- and the cool blue placemats? Such a welcome break from the bright colours!

SIX: This cake is great on so many levels. We love that this couple didn’t shy away from colour and brought in deep, colourful blooms to top off an already bold cake.
