Trend Alert: Neon Weddings

A couple weeks back, we shared some of the trends we’ve been seeing in weddings for 2016 and into 2017. One of those was the ultra fun- Neon! Whether you stick with all one fluorescent hue or have a pallet of a full neon rainbow, we can’t get enough. Our favourite way to see this trend play is with neutrals. Whether you ground it with all white, black and white, or nude neutrals- this helps keep the look from looking like you’re going for a blacklight bowling party. Here’s some images that we’re totally inspired by right now:

What a fun idea! Neon and white for wedding colours

LEFT TO RIGHT / TOP TO BOTTOM:

ONE: When I first heard neon as a wedding theme, I immediately questioned what the couple would wear to incorporate that. Some of the styled shoots we see on Pinterest have extravagant brides with wild makeup- but that’s not for everyone. We love that this couple chose neon accessories that didn’t take away from the traditional wedding looks they sported.

TWO: A neon cake! This one is lovely with a mostly white textured fondant covering, with a neon pink playing peekaboo on each layer.

THREE: This has long been a favourite shoot of mine. The nude neutral is such a wonderful base for pops of neon! Plus, it adds an element of class that the vibrant hues can sometimes lack.

FOUR: To say we LOVE this neon faux chandelier is an understatement. It elevates the whole tablescape! We also love how the settings are grounded with black glassware and chairs. Talk about chic.

FIVE: This simple neon backdrop is both perfectly lovely and achievable thanks to the use of washi tape! Notice something about this? Yep! It’s mostly white too 😉

SIX: These invitations tell guests they’re set for fun, each piece sporting a different neon hue.

SEVEN: These save the dates are edged with a pop of neon, and better yet- they’re a free printable we designed for you! They’re the perfect pop of neon without committing to a complete theme.

EIGHT: Confetti! We love confetti all of the time, but we have to say- neon makes it even more fun.

NINE: If you do want to go all-out neon, why not choose a fun desert table to house the vibrant pops? We love these fluorescent meringues!

What do you think of this trend? It’s gutsy, right?! And what about your favourite inspiration? It’s our save the dates, isn’t it 😉
